The Second Welfare Theorem with public goods in general economies
In this paper we prove a general version of the Second Welfare Theorem for a non-convex and non-transitive economy, with public goods and other externalities in consumption. For this purpose we use the sub-gradient to the distance function (normal cone) to define the pricing rule in this general context.Non-convex separation, Second Welfare Theorem, public goods, externalities.
Supporting weakly Pareto optimal allocations in infinite dimensional nonconvex economies
In this paper, we prove a new version of the Second Welfare Theorem for economies with a finite number of agents and an infinite number of commodities, when the preference correspondences are not convex-valued and/or when the total production set is not convex. For this kind of nonconvex economies, a recent result obtained by one of the authors, introduces conditions which, when applied to the convex case, give for Banach commodity spaces the well-known result of decentralization by continuous prices of pareto optimal allocations under an interiority condition. In this paper, in order to prove a different version of the Second Welfare Theorem, we reinforce the conditions on the commodity space, assumed here to be a Banach lattice, and introduce a nonconvex version of the properness assumptions on preferences and the total rpoduction set. Applied to the convex case, our result becomes the usual Second Welfare Theorem when properness assumptions replace the interiority condition. The proof uses a Hahn-Banach Theorem generalization by Borwein-Jofré which allows to separate nonconvex sets in general Banach spaces.Second welfare theorem; nonconvex economies; Banach spaces; subdifferential; Banach lattices; Properness assumptions
Mechanism Design and Auctions for Electricity Network
We present some key aspects of wholesale electricity markets modeling and more specifically focus our attention on auctions and mechanism design. Some of the results arising from those models are the computation of an optimal allocation for the Independent System Operator, the study of the equilibria (existence and unicity in particular) and the design of mechanisms to increase the social surplus. From a more general perspective, this field of research provides clues to discuss how wholesale electricity market should be regulated. We start with a general introduction and then present some results the authors obtained recently. We also briefly expose some undergoing related work. As an illustrative example, a section is devoted to the computation of the Independent System Operator response function for a symmetric binodal setting with piece-wise linear production cost functions
Epistemological Obstacles for Conceptual Production in Social Sciences : : the case of the “Global Capitalist System" Concept.
particulares. An attempt is made to clarify how some material factors, at some point in
history, influence the delay of the resurgence of a theoretical corpus that may
accurately account for social reality. More precisely, it is intended to give
evidence of the material conditions that form an obstacle for the resurgence
of the global capitalist system concept, considering that its real object was
already totally present by the second half of the XIXth century. To this
purpose, some outlines of the concept are illustrated, worked out from the
periphery of the global system which, independent from its pertinent
enunciation, was blocked in its development by specific political and
ideological conditions.

Abstract
This article establishes an analysis regarding the senses that organize the identity narratives in their links with the political dimension and violence. It also provides a detailed reflection on the socio-historical foundations involved in the making of such senses. To achieve this, the historical scopes of the political philosophy, and the relationships they evince with the Freudian proposals related to the cultural dimension of politics, are considered. A wide number of important statements is made concerning the political actions that might be established in the face of the devastating course of the identity violence.
